Rocket on the road. Speed in the city. Sirrus doesn’t discriminate, letting riders attack both with style. Combining the heart of the world’s best road bikes with a flat-bar, urban-friendly form, Sirrus redefines the notion of versatility. Race it at a local event on the weekend, then race it past traffic to work all week. Whatever the task, this sleek, modern, do-it-all rig — ergonomically designed with BG Fit professors — equips riders to conquer it faster and with greater comfort.
WHAT:
Completely redesigned E5 alloy frames and carbon forks with Zertz featuring smooth welds, tapered/integrated headset, internal cable routing, wide tyre clearance, and double eyelet rack/fender mounts.
WHY:
To improve speed and handling while also boosting style and utility to align better with the riders’ needs—from the Elite level through Pro.
HOW:
Ultralight E5 alloy frame includes features borrowed from our high-end Specialized models: Precision internal cable routing is quicker to install, eliminates cable rattle, and offers superior shifting and braking performance by keeping grit and grime away from the cables in any weather. The tapered head tube plus a carbon fork with Zertz (also in seatstays on Pro) improve front-end stiffness for better handling and minimize road vibrations. Smooth welds give the E5 frame a sleek, pro look, while features like double eyelet drop-outs make installing fenders and racks fast and easy without modifications, and extra-wide wheel clearance fits up to 35c tyres (32c with fenders).
WHAT:
Newly designed, flat bar-specific geos with lower standover, slacker seat tube angle, and longer reach.
WHY:
To create the most efficient and comfortable fitness-riding position right out of the box, for a wider range of riders, without major adjustments or swapping components.
HOW:
Working directly with our BG Fit professors, we straightened the top tube and made the reach longer. This provides the confidence and stability of a lower standover while allowing the arms and shoulders to loosen in a more ergonomic position on the bars. At the same time we slackened the seat tube to better align the knee over the pedal, increasing efficiency and comfort while pedalling. The geos are now more aligned with our mountain geos, so a medium mtb rider would use a medium Sirrus.
WHAT:
New Body Geometry ergonomic grips (with built-in bar ends) and saddles designed to work perfectly with Sirrus.
WHY:
To optimise comfort at these key contact points, while increasing efficiency in the fitness riding experience.
HOW:
Ample padding and patented BG design assure maximum blood flow to sensitive areas, plus hollow Cr-Mo rails for lightweight support and durability. Targa grips use triple-density rubber to maximize grip in key areas, and give a secure connection with the bar, and a contoured profile offers additional wrist support for better blood flow. Plus, they integrate seamlessly with the Targa bar ends which offer riders a more forward position when needed for power or comfort.
WHAT:
High-performing, experience-specific drivetrains that evolve through the line.
WHY:
To create high-quality, durable drivetrains that provide the most efficient, intuitive, and smoothest experience for the rider at each level–with an emphasis on wide gear ranges.
HOW:
BASE New 8-speed Altus triple drivetrain for maximum efficiency for varied terrain and usage, with a 28×32 climbing configuration to make even the steepest hills rideable. SPORT/ELITE Shimano 9-speed triple drivetrains offer renowned performance and loads of gears, plus upgraded cranksets with replaceable chainrings makes maintenance easier. COMP/EXP/PRO/LTD For the ultimate in light weight and fast, accurate shifting we’ve upgrade our higher-end Sirrus models with 2×10 drivetrains. For instance, working with SRAM we developed configurations for the Comp (34/48 x 11/36) equal to triples without sacrificing precision, stiffness, or weight. And Expert, Pro, and LTD models have road-bike gearing (34/50 x 11/32), plus high-end 2-piece cranks with integrated BB and external bearings—further increasing torsional stiffness for improved acceleration and climbing efficiency.
