Crosstrail riders want a fast, efficient road bike and capable mountain bike, all in one. From the weekday commute to the weekend singletrack ride, they love this bike for its true hybrid versatility that offers them wide-ranging ride options.
WHAT:
Proprietary, corrosion-resistant aluminium tubing, utilizing ORE (optimised Radius Engineering) on the down tube.
WHY:
Creates the best balance of light weight, strength, compliance, and value.
HOW:
By controlling everything from the raw material to the extrusion, butting, swaging, and heat treatment of the tubes, we can optimise our Crosstrail bikes for the all-road experience. ORE, specifically, increases weld surface areas at tube junctions for greater strength, while shaving material in non-critical areas.
WHAT:
Multi-purpose, 700c Borough XC tyres and Body Geometry contact points.
WHY:
Our multi-use tyres allow fast rolling on the road, with plenty of grip for the trail. And our BG saddle and grips increase comfort in critical areas without sacrificing road or trail performance.
HOW:
The larger diameter tyres’ smooth centre section and grippy side knobs combine for balanced performance between road and mountain. The saddle’s BG channel cuts away a precise centre section of foam to reduce pressure and improve blood flow, while the grips are shaped ergonomically to prevent hand numbness.
WHAT:
Fully functioning, damped, 75mm-travel adjustable forks with lockout (select models).
WHY:
Better control and off-road handling for a more predictable and comfortable ride.
HOW:
The fork chassis is stiffer, plus we’ve improved the top-out which reduces harsh rebounds and creates a buttery smooth ride. With a lockout, riders gain more efficiency on any surface.
