Naturally competitive, whether against herself on the toughest climb of her favourite trail or a field of competitors in an endurance event, the Fate HT 29er rider demands the premium performance only the world’s first women’s carbon hardtail 29er can deliver. She is aware of new technologies and trends in mountain biking, and wants a fast-handling, lightweight and compliant bike for ripping singletrack trails and fire roads.
WHAT:
Women’s Body Geometry Jett saddle, and size-specific grips, rotors, crank lengths and handlebar widths.
WHY:
To ensure riders get the most comfort and best possible fit at every contact point on the bike.
HOW:
By taking a systems approach to designing and spec’ing each bike individually, based on frame size and geometry, to meet the needs of women riders of all sizes.
WHAT:
FACT IS 8M carbon frame featuring women’s Performance 29er geometry, custom carbon women’s layup and tubesets, tapered head tube with 1-1/2” lower bearing, OSBB, internal cable routing and 27.2mm seatpost.
WHY:
To provide female Performance XC riders with the best-fitting, stiffest, lightest—less than 1200 grams!—and most efficient frame.
HOW:
FACT IS construction lets us create complex carbon shapes to maximize stiffness, minimize weight and reduce stress and alignment issues. From the 15” to the 19” frame, the Fate HT shares the same aggressive geometry across the line. The shaped seatstays and slimmer 27.2mm seatpost increase vertical compliance for a more comfortable ride.
WHAT:
A custom RockShox/Specialized SID 80mm-travel fork with Specialized’s Brain technology and a tapered 1-1/8” to 1-1/2” steerer tube. The 15” Fate has 51mm offset fork crown, while the 17” and 19” frames have a standard 46mm crown offset.
WHY:
The 15” Fate’s 51mm fork offset maintains the bike’s aggressive geometry, but avoids toe and front tyre clearance issues found on other 15” 29er frames.
HOW:
The geometry of each size was also optimised to have the same ride quality regardless of the fork off-set, therefore the 15” and 19” frames ride with the same snappy and quick handling. Specialized’s Brain technology senses the difference between rider-induced and bump-induced forces, using an inertia valve and oil flow to regulate suspension.
